ترجمة "شعارنا" إلى الانكليزية!

السلام عليكم وبعد،

فالغرض من طلب ترجمة محتوى باب "شعارنا" تحقيق الأهداف التالية:

- التدرب على الترجمة
(لأن محتوى هذا الباب مليء بما يسمى "السهل الممتنع")؛
- تحقيق التفاعل بين رواد هذا المنتدى؛
- الانتهاء من ترجمة باب من أبواب موقع الجمعية.

فإن نجحت هذه التجربة، عممناها على سائر الأبواب حتى ننتهي من ترجمة الأبواب كلها فننشر الموقع الانكليزي* .

وفيما يلي محتوى "شعارنا":

في شعار "عتيدة" خلاصةُ رؤيتنا ورسالتنا ..

فالكرة الأرضية تجسد دعوتنا الحضارية إلى العالم كله، بمختلف ألسنه وثقافاته. وها هي الأحرف التي ترمز إلى تلك الثقافات تلّف الكرة الأرضية، حاملةً معها دعوتنا إلى حوارٍ نهضوي بنّاء بين مختلف شعوب هذا العالم وثقافاته عبر الترجمة؛ وكلاهما واسطته اللغة، واللغة يرمز إليها شعارنا بالأحرف الملونة بألوان الأطياف الثقافية في أسرتنا العالمية.

و"عتيدة" ركيزة راسخة تحمل هذه الرؤية المشبوبة بالأمل في مستقبل أفضل، تتلاقح فيه الثقافات عبر واسطة اللغات فتزهر عن غدٍ مشرق لثقافة الإنسانية.

ثم تنتصب الرؤية كاملةً، أصلها عتيدة وفرعها عالمٌ قد وثّقت أواصره الترجمة والحوار الحضاري؛ تنتصب في هرمٍ شامخٍ هو ذاته رمزٌ لحضاراتٍ عريقةٍ شتى ضربت بجذورها في الشطرين الشرقي والغربي من عالمنا منذ أمدٍ بعيد، فعتيدة تدعو لإقامة مثل هذا الصرح الثقافي الشامخ من جديد.

حاولت قدر ما استطعت ترجمته - فهو كما وصفته بالحرف "السهل الممتنع" - و ها هي النتيجة:

The essence of our vision and message is in the logo "ATIDA".

The globe symbolizes our civilized call to the whole world, with all its different languages and cultures. Here are the letters that symbolizes those cultures surrounding the globe, carrying our call for a constructive awakening dialogue between different peoples and cultures of this world through translation; and language is the instrument of both, our logo denotes language by the letters colored with the colors of the cultural spectra in our global family.

“ATIDA” is a firm support that carries an impassioned vision for hope in a better future, where cultures cross-fertilize through languages, so it blooms a bright future for human culture.

Then the full vision stands up, “ATIDA” being its root, and a world which translation and cultural dialogue has strengthened its bonds being its branch; stands up in a lofty pyramid, which is itself a symbol for different ancient cultures that implanted its roots in the eastern and western halves of our world a long time ago / since long, So “ATIDA” calls for constructing / establishing / the construction of such type of lofty cultural edifice once more / again.

أولاً جزاك الله خيراً يا أخ محسن على الدعوة للمشاركة، ولكن أعتقد أن كلمتي "الرؤية والرسالة" تترجم في الغالب بكلمتي Vision and Mission. ويمكن الاطلاع على ذلك في العديد من المواقع الأجنبية.

تحية طيبة،

أرى أنه من الخطأ ترجمة شعار عتيدة وأنه من الضروري الخروج بصيغة لا يعرف قارئها أنها ترجمة. وعليه ينبغي الابتعاد كثيرا والانسلاخ بالكامل من القوالب والأنماط العربية الواردة في النص العربي وإلا خرجنا بصيغة تظهر من أول وهلة أنها ترجمة من العربية.

letters symbolize the large number of languages in the world, all of
which need to be translated for good communication and full
understanding to occur broadly.

ATIDA was established to help ensure a widespread high level of
cultural interchange through improved communication, thus leading to
a harmonious tomorrow for human civilization.

Thus rises the vision like a plant in bloom, rooted in ATIDA and
flourishing into a world knitted together by successful intercultural
dialogue. Soaring ever high, ATIDA will stand like a strong edifice,
a symbol of various ancient civilizations that have long existed in
both hemispheres of the globe: the East and the West.
